At draw&explore, we think type and paper go together like summer and sunshine. Strawberries and champagne. Pineapples and, well, anything really.
We believe in reviving the lost art of hand lettering, because we think handmade + hand crafted = sweet and pretty papery goodness that does more than just make a good impression.
We began as a way for designer and owner Lyn Tran to record her hand lettering journey as she travelled the globe in search of inspiration. Fast forward 5 years, and we’re now a Melbourne based design studio with a love of unique print techniques and an unmistakable style.
A little more about Lyn
Lyn is the heart and soul of draw&explore. In 2011, she left her home in Melbourne in pursuit of something bigger, brighter and bursting with happy.
She fell head over heels for Japan, and quickly became infatuated with their incredible craftsmanship and passion for beautiful handmade items. It’s no surprise that Lyn loved Japan so much that she decided to move there, where, in a tiny mansion in the heart of Osaka, she studied paper making, craft and calligraphy, and dreamt of the day she could do this for a living.
Jump back to 2018 and Lyn has transformed this knowledge of hand lettering and print techniques into an unmistakable design style. She loves adding a little happiness to her hand lettering and uses unique print techniques and materials to create personalised designs for weddings, events and just about anything else you could imagine.
She also loves strawberry glazed donuts, pineapples and watermelons, but that’s a story for another day.
